Pizza prodigy is set to open sixth store in the region

SUNSHINE Coast pizza prodigy Andrew Wood will open his sixth Domino's store next week, bringing more than 20 new jobs to the region.

Mr Wood began his career with the company as a teenager working as a wobbleboarder and has since worked his way through the ranks to build a six-store pizza empire on the Sunshine Coast.

"I started working at Domino's about 20 years ago and have owned stores on the Sunshine Coast for over a decade,” he said.

Domino's will open at Warana on Monday, June 24, and will create 25 jobs.

"Warana will be my sixth store and it's one I am very excited about as it's a great opportunity for us to reach more customers, provide faster deliveries and hotter, fresher pizza to customers,” Mr Wood said.

The new store will use electric pushbikes for deliveries and will be equipped with Domino's latest product quality innovation DOM Pizza Checker, which will monitor the standard of pizzas.

"Not only do the e-bikes help the environment, they also reduce noise in the area and provide a fun, safe and active way for us to deliver pizza to our customers,” Mr Wood said.

"The e-bikes have been designed and modified for our delivery needs, ensuring our drivers can safely deliver piping hot pizzas whilst doing our bit for the environment.”

Mr Wood said he was also proud to support local community groups through the business venture.

"We love giving back to the communities in which we operate, and currently support a number of junior sports clubs in the area,” he said.

"We are always keen to expand our sponsorships, so if you are involved with any local sporting clubs, community groups or schools, and are looking for fundraising support, pop in and say hello as we'd be more than happy to help.”

Domino's Warana will be fully operational and delivering pizzas to locals from June 24.
