Pimp your pet to win prizes

COOL cats, mischievous mutts and perfectly primped pets - Ipswich is full of colourful animal characters, and a new QT competition aims to find the best of the bunch.

If you think your dog rocks in a hat, or your cat looks great in its favourite jacket, then simply enter a photo of them in the Pimp Your Pet competition for the chance to win $500 in prizes.

The most stylish, happiest and most comfortable-looking pet, as chosen by the QT judging panel, will win a $250 Petbarn voucher and a $250 Harvey Norman voucher.

All accepted images will be featured on the QT Facebook page, and selected photographs will be published in the paper on various dates.

Pimp Your Pet opens at 9am today and entries close at 5pm on Thursday November 1.

It is an online competition exclusive to Ipswich residents.

Costumes must not pose any harm to pets, and can range from basic to elaborate outfits.

Kelpie-cross puppy Princess donned a simple kerchief to show other pets how it was done.

Princess is available for adoption at the Animal Welfare League of Queensland Ipswich centre, at a cost of $350.

Entries can be submitted on The Queensland Times Facebook page or on mobile devices via www.qt.com.au/win/.
