How accident lead Picnic star to take up acting
LILY Sullivan took up acting only after a knee injury ended the then 15-year-old's promising tennis career.
Now the 24-year-old is a star of Foxtel's new Picnic At Hanging Rock series and will walk the world stage at the Berlin Film Festival for its international premiere.
"I feel like it was the universe saying change paths because I thought I could be a tennis player," she said.
"It's now insane to be representing a new project [in Berlin]."
The Melbourne actor plays the iconic role of student Miranda Reid in the six-part miniseries. She flew to Germany yesterday with fellow cast members Harrison Gilbertson and Ruby Rees for Monday's screening. Sullivan said she was proud of the iconic project.
"We're not remaking the movie," she said, "we are creating something new, which is a risk but I think it paid off."
Picnic at Hanging Rock will air on Foxtel on May 6.
