PHOTOS: Is this Queensland’s most luxurious home?

A MULTI-MILLION property in Queensland's tropical north has hit the market - and there's no denying this six-bedroom, four-bathroom home would make for luxurious living.

The $6.4 million home is nestled among rainforest on Hamilton Island, off the Queensland coast in the Whitsundays.

Named Whitsunday Waters, the house was originally built in 1996 and has since been fully renovated, selling agent Wayne Singleton said.

"It was built by a builder on the island as a family home. The owners lived here for 30 years and raised their children but now their children have gone off to start their own families and the owners have now moved off the island - that's why they are selling," he said.

"A full renovation was carried out about five years ago to bring the property up to a modern standard."

Whitsunday Waters sits on a 2000sqm hillside block and boasts a pool with wooden decking, wide open balconies and polished floorboards.

Mr Singleton said there had been interest in the listing including from potential buyers in Australia, and across the world.

"We've had queries from people in Melbourne, Sydney, the Gold Coast as well as potential overseas buyers from places like England and Singapore."

Mr Singleton said those queries included people considering the property as potential owner occupiers and from an investment perspective.

"With this kind of property, there's the potential to let the home at $2500 a night when the owners aren't staying in it themselves," he said.
