BACONFEST 2019 was off to a sizzling start this morning on Glendon St in Kingaroy.

At 11am on Saturday, August 24 BaconFest committee members stood along side Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington and South Burnett representatives to officially declare the festival open.

South Burnett Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff did the welcome to country followed by a speech from South Burnett's Mayor Keith Campbell who welcomed locals and guests to the region.

SunPork CEO Rob van Barnevald was given the duty of cutting the 'bacon' ribbon to officially open the South Burnett event.
