Philippoussis shares grasscourt secrets with Kokkinakis

THANASI Kokkinakis has recruited former Wimbledon runner-up Mark Philippoussis to help in his preparation at the All England Club.

Philippoussis is giving one of the sport's hottest young prospects the benefit of his grasscourt experience.

The dual grand slam finalist was at The Boodles pre-Wimbledon exhibition event trying to get Kokkinakis to be more aggressive.

The youngster, who won the Wimbledon junior doubles crown in 2013 with Nick Kyrgios, has seen his ranking slip to No.498 after a long battle with injury.

But Kokkinakis beat last year's Wimbledon runner-up and world No.6 Milos Raonic at the Queen's Club lead-up event to shorten his price for his first-round clash with Juan Martin del Potro on Tuesday.

Philippoussis has told Kokkinakis to use his big serve and forehand on grass.

Kokkinakis said Philippoussis had a big influence in his comeback win over Damir Dzumhur.

"He's helped me for a long time, just like in and out whenever he can," Kokkinakis said.

"It's tough to make a massive change in two, three days but we're going to have a crack."
