Perfect time of year to burn off say RFS

THE Rural Fire Service say now is the perfect time of year to do some burning off.

The fire danger period ended in February and land holders no longer need permits to do hazard reduction burns.

An RFS spokeswoman said people intending to rid their property of fire fuel still need to attain or possess a hazard reduction certificate and if necessary an environmental permit.

"We don't know what the next season will be like," she said.

"But with all the rain we have had there is a lot of fuel around."
