MOTHERS around the Coffs Coast were able to bask in a perfect day of sunshine yesterday, with the weather providing every inducement to leave the house.

Many chose picnic-style Mother’s Day concerts, with the Botanic Garden and Coffs Harbour Show Society both hosting music under the trees.

Kristy Bridger and her family, including her father, found a spot near the sound shell at the Botanic Garden to lay out their picnic.

Her sons Kyle and Jaidyn said they had made breakfast for their mum, with scrambled eggs, bacon and mushrooms.

Ms Bridger said they had spent the past three Mother’s Days at the Botanic Garden because it was a nice place to go and she enjoyed the entertainment. “I just like the fact the family gets to have a bit of family time together,” Ms Bridger said.
