Penning body has new site

MID North Coast Team Penning Association has launched a new website to coincide with this weekend’s two-day activities at Macksville Showground.

Publicity officer Phil Grace has invited equestrian and western horse sporting fans to dial up www.mnctpa.com and see what the association has to offer.

“Check out our brand new site, where you can read the rules, check our calendar of events and discover all the contact details,” he said.

“So jump online and have a look, as you might see a photo of yourself.”

Registrations are being taken this Saturday from 2pm, with events getting under way later in the afternoon.

“There will be some barrel racing at dinner time to get proceedings under way,” Grace said.

“Bring your horse, swag and esky. For a couple of bucks you can camp on the showground overnight to be ready to get straight back into it on Sunday morning.

“Day two will see some ranch sorting, with a bit of flag, barrel and bending racing on the side.

“It’s a great way to spend the weekend and have fun.”

Most events have a small entry fee, which ends up as prize money to go with a ribbon.

The club is putting in extra fundraising effort, including raffles, over the next couple of months to raise money for the Riding For The Disabled organisation and help out flood-affected branches.

If raining, competitors should check with Tim Zeck on 6568 3209 or Shirley Baines on 0418 430 023 to confirm the event is still running.
