Pedal power shall prevail
IF LYCRA and bikes are your thing, then this year's NAB Coffs Cycle Challenge will have you looking good while you huff and puff.
The Coffs Harbour Rotary Club is running the challenge on August 4, with the main event, the 100km run from the Jetty to the Bellingen foothills and back, sure to attract a lot of attention.
The race will include solo and team options as well as 60km solo and family rides.
Cowper MP Luke Hartsuyker said he was looking forward to the challenge.
"I have always been a strong supporter of this Coffs Coast regional event which is quickly growing in popularity and attracting more visitors to the region," Mr Hartsuyker said.
"I understand the organisers are focused on attracting international riders in the future which would ensure the event continued to go from strength to strength.
"Last year I was delighted to be part of a parliamentary team 'Riders on the Hill' led by my parliamentary colleague and Federal Opposition Leader, Tony Abbott. The team took part in the 100km team category and I know Tony would love to participate again when his work schedule permits."
If getting fit wasn't motivation enough, one rider will go into a draw to win a Trek Madone 5.2 bicycle provided by Bob Wallis Cycles and valued at more than $3500.
