Pearson is the in-form athlete

THERE is no doubting that Richard Pearson is currently enjoying a golden run of form.

A week after winning both the Forest Footrace and the Seaside Scamper in the Woolgoolga Fun Runs, Pearson streeted the field on Sunday in the Red Rock-Corindi SLSC’s annual Bendigo Bank triathlon.

The Woolgoolga athlete won the event in perfect weather conditions by a massive three minutes and 23 seconds ahead of Glenn George with James Moncada finishing a further 81 seconds back. Amy Clark made it a Woolgoolga double when she was the first woman to cross the line in just under an hour.

The team of the Coconut Girls and Daddy which comprised of Joanna, Claudia and Neil Charles were the teams’ winners.

There was only one incident requiring first aid when a competitor fell from his bike at the start of the bike leg but like a true athlete he quickly jumped back on and finished the race before some patching-up was carried out.
