Pastors return to city where journey began

HUSBAND and wife team Pastors Wayne and Lorelle Magee have been appointed senior ministers at the Coffs Family Church, returing them to the city where they began their ministry 20 years ago.

In 1987 Wayne Magee left a management position at local television network NRTV (now Southern Cross 10) to take up the role of associate pastor at the Bethel Christian Centre which was then located in Bray Street.

Many long-time residents will remember Wayne as the host and producer for a number of television programs and the resident newsreader for many years on NRTV.

Both Wayne and Lorelle are ordained ministers and Wayne said they had ministered to six other churches in Sydney, Brisbane and Grafton during their 20 years in the ministry.

Wayne Magee is also the Australian president of the church's denomination The Foursquare Church Australia, an international pentecostal group.

In Sydney he also served as the denomination's general supervisor and presented talk-back radio on 2CH between 8pm and midnight.

He currently chairs the denomination's South Pacific Region Council and is one of 17 members of the Global Council of Foursquare Missions International.

Lorelle Magee is the National Women's President of the Foursquare Church Australia.
