Pass the baton and fight against cancer

JOIN in the fun at the Coffs Coast Relay For Life to fight against cancer today at the Coffs Harbour Showground from 10am to 10pm.

There is something for everyone with all funds raised going to the Cancer Council's vital research, prevention, information and support services for cancer patients and their families living on the Coffs Coast.

This year Relay will feature the 'Absolute Entertainment Kidszone' with jumping castle, Sumo Suits, The Smileys, plaster painting, the Sand Wizard and more. The Smileys will perform on the main stage and 1 pm, and be available throughout the day.

There will be plenty of Healthy Living Inspirations, with demonstrations and workshops from the Sistas of the Infinite Circle Hula Hoopers, Zumba and cardio boxing from Curves gym, Kulturithmik Salsa dancing and Oki-Do Yoga. Health and Fitness testing will be provided by CHC Pharmacy, Bay Audio and Genesis Gym.

Check out the healthy eating workshops run by trained Eat it To Beat facilitators in the health tent.

To win great prizes pick up your free Health Passport and collect five stamps by participating in these activities.

To get you moving and grooving at the main stage we have a number of local musical talents including Ben Francis, D'Boyzos, the soulful Gina Balenzano, the Kulturithmik Cuban Band and the Marian Grove Ukulele Group.

Come and have a laugh at the Mascot Race where Coffs Mascots of all shapes and sizes dash to raise cash in a spectacle that must be seen to be believed, and the Miss Relay event where boys dress as girls collecting cash as their votes to be crowned Miss Relay for 2015!!

Relay Teams will also be conducting fundraising activities throughout the day and night including raffles, competitions, craft, art, food and second hand clothes stalls. A survivors and carers walk and morning tea will commence at 10.30am, then the moving Candelight Ceremony to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer at 5pm.

For more information contact Pippa Tabone, Cancer Council's Community Relations co-ordinator on 6659 8402 or email Pippa on pippatabone@nswcc.org.au.
