Park's million-dollar win in US Open

SOUTH Korea's Sung Hyun Park has claimed her first major title by winning the US Women's Open by two strokes in New Jersey.

Park, 23, had a final-round five-under-par 67 to finish at 11-under 277, beating compatriot, amateur Hye Jin Choi, finished second after a one-under 71.

Two South Koreans, Mi Jung Hur (68) and So Yeon Ryu (70), completed the trifecta by sharing third spot at seven under.

Australia's Minjee Lee had a last-round six-under 66 to finish tied in 11th at four under.

Park won $1.1 million.

Australians Kerrie Webb (tied 44th), Katherine Kirk (tied 48th) and Su-hyun Oh (tied 56th) finished well off the pace.
