COFFS Harbour Mayor Cr Keith Rhoades pointed out that fees for airport parking, approved at Thursday night’s council meeting – scheduled to commence mid-May – were only valid until the end of June.

“Is there any further information?” asked Cr Rhoades.

The council’s director of corporate business Craig Milburn said the fees were reviewed annually with the licensee to ensure an adequate income stream in line with comparable airport operations in other areas.

Cr Bill Palmer said he had been approached with concerns about the 15 minutes of free parking not being sufficient, because all planes were not on time but he did not think $2 for the first hour was very harsh.

Other airport parking fees approved were $4 for 1-2 hours, $6 for 2-3 hours; $8 for 3-4 hours; $10 for 4-5 hours and $12 for 5-24 hours.

Daily prices are Day 2 $12; Day 3 and 4 $10 Day 5-and 6 $8 and day 7 and thereafter $6.
