Parishioners get added protection from above

IT IS not just the Lord Almighty which is protecting Anglican parishioners at Sawtell.

Thanks to the generosity of Cancer Council (NSW) and matching funds from the Parish, a new rectangular shade cover was installed over the patio between the original heritage-listed St Nicholas Church and the current church building.

While the Cancer Council and parish contributed the funds, a small team of visiting and local parish handymen, contributed their expertise and labour to complete the works.

David Stock, who is a professional shade cloth installer in Queensland, was 'roped in' by sister-in-law Penny Budge (and Rector's Warden) when visiting for some rest and recreation.

Now, children and their parents who utilise the patio for Mother's Club and Mainly Music activities can enjoy more open space under shade. And so too Sawtell /Bonville parishioners who after church services often enjoy tea and coffee on the deck.

Visitors to St Nicholas Church can now enjoy both divine and solar protection.
