Pairs hit Bonville

TO begin with there was 3790 pairs of golfers, now there are only 40 remaining.

The KENO NSW Mixed Fourball Championship state finals are finishing this afternoon at Bonville Golf Resort where 80 players from around the state have earned the right to try and get their name on the trophy.

Each pair has been through a local and district qualifying event and yesterday the first stableford round showed why the final 40 pairs were at Bonville judging by some of the scores.

Event manager Christi Collier said that playing the state final at Bonville was an easy choice to make for organisers.

"We rotate the state final around various clubs but this is the second year that it has been at Bonville and we've locked it in for next year as well," Collier said.

"It's also a thrill for the players to come here and play at such a wonderful course."

With players from across the state, the distances that some have travelled from the Riverina and Western regions have been large but the players certainly feel like the effort has been worth it.
