Perfect conditions for Paddle Against Poverty

WHETHER it was the powers at be or just coincidence an ocean lull welcomed the Christian Surfers Paddle Against Poverty to Jetty Beach.

Strong northerly winds, saw the event start from Sapphire Beach instead of Sawtell, as originally planned.

The charity surfboard paddle aims to raise funds to build an orphanage in Bali.

Gentle half a metre waves assisted the flotilla of starters who took part in the epic surf board paddle.

This was the 19th charity paddle run by Christian Surfers.

Organisers hope to exceed last year's paddle, which raised $10,000 for Bali Life.
