Pacific Highway forum tonight

PINEAPPLE juice has never smelt the same to Trevor Green since October 20, 1989.

The truck that was involved in the notorious Cowper bus crash was carrying a load of tinned pineapple juice.

It is just one of the thousands of sights, sounds and smells that make up Mr Green’s memories of road accidents over 31 years of working as a Grafton-based ambulance paramedic.

Mr Green, the recipient of a bravery medal in 2002, who has seen first hand how road improvements lower accident statistics, will be one of those attending tonight’s Public Forum on the Pacific Highway at Coffs Harbour.

Others at the Forum will include the Pacific Highway manager of the Roads and Traffic Authority, Bob Higgins; Federal MP Luke Hartsuyker and the political candidates for the state seat of Coffs Harbour in next month’s NSW election.

Local musician Keogh Holtermann will also perform his song, Thin White Line.

The Public Forum on the Pacific Highway is on at 7pm tonight in the lecture theatre at the Coffs Harbour Education Campus on Hogbin Drive.
