$7000 cash left in Buderim clothes donation bin

POLICE are trying to identify the rightful owner of a significant sum of money which was found inside clothes donated to charity on the Sunshine Coast last weekend.

Nearly $7,000 in cash was located in the pockets of women's garments that had been placed in a Buderim charity bin sometime between Friday last week and Monday this week.

A charity worker found the money and handed it in to police on Monday morning.

Police said the name of the charity, exact location of the donation bin and description of clothing was being withheld while they attempted to track down the rightful owner.

Anyone who believes they may have donated the clothing containing the cash is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 with further details.
