Outrageously fast 2010 Nissan GT-R

THIS week, I am presenting to you a stunning 2010 Nissan GT-R in an outrageous, yet very beautiful orange wrap.

It's not everyday you see a bright orange GT-R cruising down the street! This beast is equipped with a front mounted, 3.8 litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine which can produce up to 362kW (485 hp) at 6400 rpm and 588Nm of torque (434 lb-ft of torque) at 3200 rpm. This is an extraordinary amount of power from a V6.

Connected to this small but mighty engine is a six-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission, which shifts almost instantly, or in less than 100 milliseconds to be exact.

That's faster than you can blink!

The reason why the double-clutch system is so fast is because the transmission automatically pre-selects the next highest and next lowest gear.

This particular Nissan GT-R has a curb weight of about 1730 kilograms, which is around about 155 kilograms heavier than a Lamborghini Aventador and almost 250 kilograms heavier than a Ferrari 458 Italia.

Despite its weight, the GT-R is still able to achieve a 0-100 kilometre per hour acceleration time of just 3.5 seconds.

That is 0.1 seconds off the much lighter and much more powerful 458 Italia and almost half a second off the insane 700 hp Lamborghini Aventador.

When Nissan first launched the GT-R back in 2007, it had a revolutionary navigation screen which was designed by the developers of he GranTurismo PlayStation game, and you can view your acceleration, braking and cornering G-forces, all of your engine and oil temperatures, how much boost the turbo's are putting out, and much more.

The 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 monsters that are featured in all Nissan GT-Rs are completely made by hand, much like all AMG models.

Although, Nissan has gone one step further and mated each transmission to each specific engine in the GT-R, so for example the transmission in this particular GT-R would not work in any other GT-R ever produced.

Some other features that this particular Nissan GT-R is equipped with includes custom 19-inch eight-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in performance tyres, an aftermarket carbon fibre front splitter and rear spoiler, double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, a front and rear stabilizer bar, a custom exhaust system, four-wheel ABS as well as traction and stability control, electronic brake force distribution, a leather interior and much more.

You can currently buy a 2010 Nissan GT-R for approximately $118,000 AUD.
