Our girls are state champs

COFFS Harbour's Under-15 girl's netball side has been crowned state champions following a string of big performances at the Netball NSW State Age Championships in Charlestown.

Finishing on top of its division ladder with 13 wins and three losses, Coffs claimed top spot ahead of second place Inverell by only two points.

Coffs Harbour's under 13 division three side finished fifth with 15 wins and five losses while the under 12's team finished sixth.

Coffs Harbour 14U Division Three team finished ninth on their age division ladder with eight wins and nine losses.

Netball NSW President Wendy Archer was very pleased with the standard of netball played throughout the competition.

"At all the venues it had been absolutely awesome and the skill level of players in the 12 to 15 year age grouping just continues to improve each year," Archer said.

"Thank you to the associations who hosted teams from across NSW for a wonderful three-day competition.

"It was a spectacular display and certainly shines a bright light on the future of Netball in NSW."

More than 2700 games were played in sunshine and a little rain across venues at Wyong, Gosford, Lakeside and Charlestown with the winners and runners up crowned on Monday.
