Orara Valley Fair on Monday
JUST how much does Pepper the porky pig weigh?
That will be one of the questions to be pondered by visitors to Monday’s Orara Valley Fair, where guessing the poundage of the pig will be a game anyone can play, with a prize for the best guess.
Pepper will visit the Fair with other members of Cathy Hoschke’s menagerie ranging from a baby alpaca and chickens to cows and goats.
Dave Gauci will have his string of ponies for children to ride and there will be hayrides behind the red tractor, as well as carnival rides, the Lions jumping castle and foam sword fighting at the Medieval Village.
There will be children’s races and novelty events, plus the Karangi Vintage Farm Machinery Museum’s machines and Steve McEwan’s Reptile World.
The wood chopping program will see top axemen in action, including champion tree faller Mitch McKenzie.
The stage will be hopping with Errol Gray; Dave James with Elvis and Friends; Brittany Lee and Bob Howson; Coffs Harbour Rhythmic Dancers; Kylie Walters’ Sacred Lotus bellydancing troupe; The Drum Co. and whip cracker Brian Fahey.
There are more than 50 stalls, with a wide variety of food and drinks, fresh produce and crafts
The Fair is on from 10am to 4pm on Monday June 14 at Upper Orara Recreation Reserve on Dairyville Road. This is a scenic 15 minute drive west of Coffs Harbour with ample parking in the paddocks surrounding the Fair.
There is also a free Beaumont’s Bus which will leave the bus stop outside Woolworths Supermarket at 10am and leave the Fair to return to Coffs Harbour at 3.15pm.
Entry to the Fair is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
