OPINION: For the love of the community

OPINION: As a curious teenager growing up in a small regional town, I couldn't wait to leave the comforts of home and take on the world.

Once I turned 18 I moved between share houses, ate cheap food and stumbled my way through a university degree.

After saying goodbye to the flexibilities of uni life and hello to the 9-5 grind, I traversed through different career paths revolving around the communications industry.

During these times I have connected with some pretty special human beings (including my current work mates, but don't tell them that!)

Consciously or unconsciously, I have always surrounded myself with a solid support network.

On reflection, my early beginnings instilled in me the importance of how a close-knit community can help us get through this little thing called life.

So, hold onto your loved ones and be thankful for the wonderful people in your circle.
