Operation Safe Return nabs naughty drivers

COFFS/CLARENCE police caught 143 speedsters during Operation Safe Return, which ended on Monday night.

They also charged 10 people with drink-driving from 1720 breath tests, and laid another 18 traffic charges.

Another long weekend blitz run on the Coffs Coast by the visiting Traffic Support Group resulted in three drink-driving charges from 2081 breath tests.

They laid another six traffic charges, detected 134 speedsters and issued 22 fines for seatbelt offences. They also handed out another 139 infringements.
