One more year for Old Boy Costin

FORMER player and now coach Brandon Costin has earned the ultimate compliment from Coffs Harbour Comets.

His coaching tenure has been extended one more year and only those who most please the bosses receive that honour before a season ends.

Today the club will honour all its Old Boys but the coach is adamant the bonhomie will not extend to the playing group until business is concluded with the visiting Grafton side.

"I'm very pleased to get another year in charge at what is the best run club I've ever been involved with,” Costin said..

"Old Boys celebrations are not an issue as such but on the field the execution must be how we play in what are now the finals.

"We know we will be playing Orara next week and I'd like to think more times against the Ghosts but there will be no commiserations if we are beaten today as to where our finals games are played.

"Just so long as if we have to go to Grafton, we win at Grafton.”

It's likely two changes may be made from the side that drew 20-all with the Axemen and final checks will be made this morning.

Comets of any era are invited to the party with special acknowledgement of 1968 reserve grade, 1978 and 1988 under-18's, and the reserve grade team of 1998, all celebrating premiership anniversaries.
