One-hit wonders you have to see

ONE hit wonders Alien Ant Farm, Wheatus, Hoobastank and Lit have announced a very Y2K Australian package tour.

They'll combine for the Sing It Loud tour, visiting Australia in September and October.

To refresh your memories, Wheatus hit it big in 2000 with the No. 1 Teenage Dirtbag. While they scored a UK hit with a cover of Erasure's A Little Respect, it failed to chart here and their only other ARIA appearance was at No. 47 with the double aside Wannabe Gangster/Leroy.

The band have never split and have released five albums.

Alien Ant Farm's career took off with a rock cover of Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal, an Australian No. 1 in 2001. The momentum saw the original follow up, Movies, reach No. 29 in Australia and a song called Glow made No. 98 in 2003. The band have also kept touring through the years.

Hoobastank's The Reason was their only Australian Top 10 hit, making No. 7 in 2003, although the band reached No. 39 with The Letter featuring Melbourne singer Vanessa Amorosi in 2009.

Lit's My Own Worst Enemy was their only major Australian hit, released in 1999.

The tour also features Jackass affiliated rockers CKY.

Each of the five bands will alternate running order at each night of the tour.

They will play Metro City on Perth on September 26, Thebarton Theatre Adelaide on September 27, Big Top at Luna Park in Sydney on September 28, Eatons Hill Brisbane on September 30 and Festival Hall in Melbourne on October 1.

Tickets on sale this Friday.
