Olympic hockey stars to help Coffs juniors

OLYMPIANS Marnie Hudson and Brent Livermore will be sharing their skills with Coffs Coast Juniors this weekend.

The pair will be guests of honour at a North Coast Academy of Sport Skills clinic to be held at the Coffs Harbour Hockey fields on Saturday.

The free session is open to all junior players and runs from 9.30am to 11.30am.

With the season set to get underway in April it will also be an opportunity for players to register with local clubs.

"It is a rare opportunity," Coffs Coast Hockey Associations Russ Atkinson said

"I can't remember the last time players of this quality came to Coffs to help out our juniors.

"It is good for the kids to get that exposure to the greats of our game and hopefully it helps inspires some to play hockey for the first time."

There will be a raffle on the day for a one on one training session with both Hudson and Livermore.

"It is an incredible prize that even I would love to win," Atkinson said.

"Hopefully we get a great turnout on Saturday because it is sure to be a great morning of hockey."
