OLYMPIC gold medallist Brooke Hanson will be in Coffs Harbour next week for the official opening of the new Bunnings Warehouse.

The former Australian swim champion and television presenter will join complex manager Dean Dannevig and Bunnings managing director John Gillam for the opening on Wednesday, November 5 at 5.45pm.

More than $41 million was invested in the new store, which has seen more than 100 new recruits from the local community join the existing 113 existing team members transferring from the original store.

The new 13,000sq m Bunnings Warehouse store replaces the existing store on the corner of the Pacific Hwy and Cook Dr.

Its new features include 21 kitchen and bathroom displays, a large nursery and parking for more than 300 cars.

A range of DIY Workshops for adults and kids will also now be available for those wanting to learn new skills.
