Ocean swim secures sponsor

HAVING raised nearly $160,000 for local surf clubs and youth orientated charities over the past eight years, the Coffs Coast Ocean Swim has received a massive boost ahead of the next edition to be held March 6.

The popular swim now has secured a major sponsor in Beachside Radiology.

“A new radiology practice in Coffs Harbour has literally swum into town and is now the major sponsor of the ocean swims that have been run by the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour Daybreak for the past nine years,” past president of the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour Daybreak John Clark said.

“The event is now called the Beachside Radiology Coffs Coast Ocean Swims.”

Not that Beachside Radiology is a complete stranger to the Coffs Coast.

Dr John Mitchell, who is the managing director of Beachside Radiology, is actually a former resident of Coffs Harbour.

“It was a delight and a privilege to sponsor such a major event that combined the use of the beautiful Jetty Harbour area as well as encouraging a healthy lifestyle and raising funds for local surf clubs and charities,” Dr Mitchell said.
