NSW Origin win has put Coffs Harbour in the spotlight

COFFS Harbour has been on the map for many years but there's no doubting the victorious NSW Blues have put us squarely in the spotlight.

With the Blues conducting pre-Origin training camps at Novotel Pacific Bay Resort, the squad and coach Laurie Daley haven't been shy in crediting Coffs Harbour as a major factor behind the Blues securing their first Origin series win since 2005.

Coffs Harbour Mayor, Cr Denise Knight, said the training camps plus the community support behind the team has certainly seen the city earn its moniker as 'Blues Harbour'.

"We want to thank the Blues for giving the whole of NSW this historic victory and for truly putting Coffs Harbour in the spotlight by crediting the time they've spent here before each game as being the magic ingredient that saw them clinch the series," Cr Knight said.

"We also want to thank the community for getting behind the team and showing their support by turning Coffs Harbour into Blues Harbour before each of the first two games - and, of course, Jodie Evans and the team at Novotel Pacific Bay Resort for bringing the Blues to town in the first place."
