NRMA keen to back projects

COMMUNITY groups are being advised to make sure they take advantage of funds available from the NRMA Insurance Community Grants program.

Cowper MP Luke Hartsuyker said the NRMA gave out $230,000 in NSW and the ACT last year.

“It’s a golden opportunity for those organisations with a project in mind to improve their community to get a helping hand,” Mr Hartsuyker said.

The grants, of between $500 and $5000, fall into four categories:

Road Safety – to change behaviour on the roads to reduce the number and severity of accidents;

Crime Prevention – improving safety and security in communities;

Emergency Readiness – minimising the effect of, and reducing incidents in the home;

Environment – increasing environmental awareness and combating climate change.

Applications are open until March 31.

Full details are available at NRMA offices, on 1300 306 496, and at www. nrma.com.au/grants

“These grants could make all the difference and I’d encourage all those involved with their community to have a look at this program,” Mr Hartsuyker said.
