NRL star Gordon helps junior club support devastated family

FORMER Sawtell junior Kevin Gordon may be a NRL star now but his actions this week prove his heart is still with the Panthers.

The Gold Coast Titans winger has thrown his support behind a fundraiser for the family of Jake Kedzlie following the tragic death of the talented rugby league player in a freak accident last weekend.

Gordon and the Titans have donated a signed 2013 Titans playing jersey to the Sawtell Panthers Junior Rugby League Club which will be used to raise funds for Jake's family.

Gordon proudly played with the Sawtell Panthers throughout his junior rugby league career from the age of 9 until 17 and was saddened by the news of the tragedy earlier this week.

"To hear that Jake died playing football at such a young age is a tragedy,'' Gordon said.

"My thoughts go out to Jake's family and friends, and everyone involved with the Sawtell Panthers club.''
