NRL investigates Penrith star Jamal Idris’s club ejection

PENRITH officials claim an incident which led to Panthers giant Jamal Idris (pictured) ejected by security from a NSW mid-north coast club on Friday evening following a disagreement with other patrons was "only minor".

Minor or not, the NRL, which has been left red-faced several times in recent months by players involved in alcohol-related incidents, has asked the Panthers for a full report on the circumstances which have again put the game in the headlines for the wrong reasons.

The NRL's Integrity Unit was alerted to the incident on the weekend by Penrith boss Warren Wilson.

"We were told it was a minor incident and Jamal is innocent," Wilson said.

"We'll talk to him when he comes back to training and then make a full report to the NRL."

Management of the popular Club Forster declined to comment publicly.
