Now and Then ... again

FOLLOWING on from the very popular first series of its historical photography project, ABC Open has announced several new Now and Then workshops.

The project involves lining up historical photos in the landscape where they were originally taken.

The aim is to show the story of place and the changes over time.

The accompanying image is of a punt that used to be on the Nambucca River at Macksville with Beverly Kirkby taking a Now and Then photo.

The historical photo was taken circa 1900 and is part of the Mary Boulton Pioneer Cottage and Museum collection.

The workshops, run by ABC Open producer, Liz Keen, will show participants how to set up their camera to capture the background and the photo in the foreground and how to share the photo online through flickr and ABC Open.

The workshops take place at Bellingen on June 22 and 25 and Urunga on June 26 and July 1.

To find out more about Now and Then, or any other ABC Open projects, or to book into the workshop contact Liz on 0477 315 278 or via abcopen.coffscoast.nsw@abc.net.au.
