Novotel Pacific Bay hosting annual NCAS education conference

COACHES, athletes and sporting administrators from across NSW are gathered on the Coffs Coast this weekend.

The North Coast Academy of Sport's (NCAS) regional athlete and coach education (RACE) conference is being held at Novotel Coffs Harbour Pacific Bay Resort on Saturday and Sunday.

The education program is an exciting one with modules being delivered across a variety of topics including sports physiology, nutrition, psychology and core strength and stability.

In addition, athletes and coaches will attend modules on social media skills and drugs awareness in sport.

NCAS executive director John Kincade said RACE is a once-a-year event.

"It has been designed so that the academy can meet its obligation of providing an ancillary education program to its athletes," he said.

"RACE is a critical part of the mission of giving our athletes the edge.

"The weekend involves a two-day program of quality and up-to-date information, relevant to regional athletes and coaches' needs.

"Sessions will be presented by professionals within their relevant field of expertise through a variety of suitable learning formats.

"Attending coaches will also improve their skills and knowledge and this in turn will benefit North Coast athletes."
