Welcome to the first edition of From the Editor's Desk.
Firstly, we want to say how much we appreciate you as a subscriber.
For decades, our local newspapers have been at the heart of vibrant regional communities. We have strived to keep readers informed of what's going on, to campaign to right wrongs, keep our elected officials accountable and get behind many great community causes.
In the digital age, when there are so many conflicting sources of information, we understand our role in covering breaking news and big local, national and international stories is more vital than ever.
But we know we need to earn your trust - and offer value for money.
That's why we have continued to expand our digital offering.
With the vast resources of the News Corp network behind us, we not only offer the best local stories, but also breaking news, and major investigations from some of the top writers in the country.
For subscribers, you should have noticed a new premium content offering. These stories, recognisable by the News Plus logo, have until now not been able to be run on this website because of copyright.
With News now owning this website, that barrier had been broken down, allowing more of the big stories first for you.
In coming months, we will be making improvements to our website to showcase more local news and the best of the network.
We have also introduced improvements to the digital edition of our paper, making it far easier to read the paper as it printed on desktop, tablet or even your mobile.
You will see a link to the paper from the top menu bar near your login or from under the network news container which features the best of our content from 50 local, state, national and international websites.
Of course, a subscription to your local paper also includes a subscription to The Daily Telegraph.
And your subscription also gives you access to great rewards which can be found via the subscription section near your login (top of the home page right of the search box).
There you can also subscribe to breaking newsletters, update your details, view your statement or request a holiday stop of the paper.
