Noosa gets its own I-App
THE Noosa region is now on the iPhone App map, with the launch on Sunday, February 20 of the destination's latest marketing device.
Tourism Noosa will launch the innovative and dynamic new tool as part of its digital marketing strategy, tapping into the smart-phone phenomenon which is expected to have more than 120 million users around the world by the end of this year.
The Noosa iApp, which will be free to download through the www.visitnoosa.com.au website from this Sunday, will give users anywhere in the world up-to-the-minute information about the northern region.
It will list all locations and villages, from Coolum to Hastings Street, Noosaville, Eumundi and the Noosa North Shore, with categories across accommodation, tours, restaurants and bars, shopping, events, spas, attractions, transport services and more.
Tourism Noosa Marketing and Media Director Diane Ainsworth said the Noosa iApp was an exciting and revolutionary tool containing endless holiday inspiration, from where to stay and what to see and do while you’re here.
“Everything you need to know about your next holiday, or when you’re in destination, will be in your pocket, at your fingertips 24-7,” Ms Ainsworth said.
“The App will feature interactive maps with GPS capabilities so people can easily find their way here and find their way around once they’re in region.
“You’ll be able to interact anywhere in the world at any time at the touch of your screen.”
With buy-in opportunities for tourism operators and the chance for people to receive real-time messaging, the Noosa iApp is one of the most interactive tourism Apps on the market.
“So if you want to book a surf lesson or spa treatment, find how to get to local country markets, where the nearest Italian restaurant is, or who’s playing at the local surf club tonight, the Noosa iApp will have the answers,” Ms Ainsworth said.
“Local businesses can also let people know about the latest hot deals and the Nooas iApp will link directly to advertisers’ websites.
“With Australians taking up iPhones at a greater rate per capita than anywhere else in the world, the Noosa iApp is sure to grab attention.”
As part of the launch, Tourism Noosa is running promotional campaigns throughout Australia including an extensive radio blitz in Brisbane, extensive print campaign into our southern markets as well as media activity in New Zealand that will reach millions of people.
Anyone who downloads the Noosa iApp before March 31 will have a chance to win one of five iPads – to enter, go to www.visitnoosa.com.au, click on the iApp banner, download the App and register your contact details.
