No time for panic

NEITHER side will be pressing the panic button just yet but there are plenty of opportunities today for both Port Macquarie and North Coffs to improve. The Magpies failed their big test against Sawtell last week and sorely missed the absent Shannon Skreja, Matthew Lill and Dean Nankivell as this trio adds spine to the Port side. There are positives in the young players such as Liam Carroll coming through their junior program and now playing solid senior football.

More is needed from their core to support Jesse Schmidt.

North Coffs were below par themselves against the plucky Swans despite strolling to a good win on the scoreboard. Only a burst in the second quarter gave them the required breathing space. Darren Funston is leading the way, along with Levi Sands across halfback. Sands was one of the ’Roos few shining lights last weekend, along with the combination of Sykes and Turner, kicking four goals each.
