Letter to the Editor - May 16: No sympathy for speedsters

I AM amazed there should be comments regarding the use of speed cameras.

Sure the government is collecting the revenue, but it is from those drivers who ignore the law.

From the figures there is a good case for installing more cameras.

It says something regarding the driving habits of Coffs Harbour's drivers when the greater amount of the fines from fixed speed cameras - $858,337 were for infringements in the local area.

What does politician Jodie McKay offer as an alternative to try to deter those inconsiderate drivers who flout the law.

Don't whinge when you get fined.

Geoff Cawood
