No bail, knife attack

A MAN, 31, was due to face court yesterday over a vicious domestic assault in Coffs Harbour.

Police allege a knife was involved in the assault and that the man’s partner, 23, had to be taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus.

Police were called to the incident in Azalea Avenue at 1.30am yesterday.

Detective Inspector Cameron Lindsay said the woman received nine stitches for a gash to her forearm and was also treated for bruising to her left leg and scratches to her neck.

The man was charged with reckless wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of common assault and stalk/intimidate.
