No.2 Oak St awarded for good food

BELLINGEN'S Urquhart family were still in shock yesterday as they drove home from the prestigious Good Food Guide Awards.

After 16 years their No. 2 Oak Street restaurant has now joined the big league of two hatted restaurants.

"This puts us on a par with some of the most credentialed restaurants in Sydney,"; an excited Toni Urquhart said.

Parents Ray and Toni opened the fine dining experience in Bellingen when their two children were still toddlers - now Shani and Michael are well and truly part of the team with Michael having completed his chef's apprenticeship and now designing menus and Shani following in her mother's footsteps bringing energy, charm and good fun to the dining room.

Ms Urquhart said other local restaurants that scored a mention at the well-attended award ceremony were Cafe Fiasco in Coffs Harbour, Saltwater at Emerald Beach and the Jaaning Tree at Nambucca Heads.
