Nine confirms: McLeod's Daughters reunion is possible

CHANNEL Nine has confirmed it is looking at a reboot of beloved Aussie drama McLeod's Daughters.

"We are talking to (creator) Posie Graeme Evans about how we could tackle it," a Nine spokesman said.

"We know how much everybody loves McLeod's Daughters, it's an important part of our heritage.

"Nothing is commissioned, or set in stone."

A mysterious tweet from two former stars of the series had fans in a stir at the prospect of a revival this morning.

"Watch this space ..." Michala Banas tweeted, along with a picture of herself and former co-stars Simmone Jade Mackinnon and Rachel Carpani.

Mackinnon also tweeted the same picture and message, which suggests the two actors hope they will be part of a resurrected series.

Speaking to News Corp Australia from LA, Banas denied knowing about comeback plans, though she did say "never say never".

"It's been over 10 years since the show finished, and people, bless them, are still saying, 'Are you going to make another show?' That's not happening, unfortunately."

The move would make sense for the network, as in its heyday, McLeod's averaged more than 1.5 million viewers across the capital cities.

Banas suggested that her tweets refer to a girlie catch-up between the stars.

"The three of us were very good mates for a lot of years, and we're still very good mates but we're never in the same place at the same time.

"So we're trying to make that happen."

"It won't be in a working capacity. At this stage. Unless someone wants to write us a show. Go for it!"

An earlier tweet showed Banas reunited with another former McLeod's co-star, Brett Tucker.

"He is one of my closest friends," she said.

"You forge these friendships and some last a long time. There's been a little bit of McLeod's catching up lately."
