New Wellcamp development will bring jobs

THE newest development in the Wellcamp Business Park will create another 20 jobs in the region.

Developer Denis Wagner said plans would soon be submitted to Toowoomba Regional Council for a 4000sq m transport and warehouse depot.

The depot will be situated on Ballera Crt directly opposite oil and gas company Schlumberger's facility.

Mr Wagner said the facility tied in well with the logistics airfreight industry which was "starting to get real legs".

"We've had a number of inquiries from companies involved in food processing and the packing and repackaging of perishable freight," he said.

"We're about to submit an application for another cold facility for Wellcamp Airport."

The 20 new jobs are just the beginning; Mr Wagner predicts over the next 40 years there will be thousands of jobs created in the park.

The new facility is comprised of three buildings that are 1250sq m each.

Plans also include office space, car parking and hard stand areas for heavy vehicles.

Three local building companies will be asked to submit tenders for constructing the facility.

Mr Wagner said the application's approval through council would likely be straightforward as it was a code assessable.
