Sawtell swimmers take the plunge

DESPITE cooler temperatures, more than 50 children enjoyed the fun at Sawtell Swim Club during the opening meet of the season.

The Club is experiencing a mini boom with many new swimmers of all ages enjoying their first swim under lights.

And it wasn't just the first timers who held the crowd's interest, with many return swimmers mounting early challenges in the point score. Six personal best swim times were recorded.

Tomorrow, our Swimmer of the Week award is back, granted to the swimmer showing the most improvement in personal ability.

A large contingent of swimmers has entered for the annual Sawtell Explosion Carnival at the Swim Centre this Saturday.

For a lot of new members it is their first experience in competitive swimming.

The action gets underway at 9am, so make sure you don't miss it.
