New MH17 video 'sickening' to watch says Bishop

A "SICKENING" video of Russian rebels picking through the wreckage of MH 7 in eastern Ukraine sparked condemnation as the families of the 38 victims gathered yesterday in Canberra.

At Parliament House, Prime Minister Tony Abbott and other political figures joined the families of those lost in the attack, hours after News Corporation released the video online.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop described the video as "sickening" after seeing footage of rebels apparently surprised it was "a passenger plane".

Mr Abbott said it was an "atrocity" and even if the rebels did not know it was a passenger plane it was "in no way an accident".

The footage was released this morning by News Corp
