New-look, one-off Reds for Friday

IT will be a new-look Queensland Reds side that tackles the Highlanders in Brisbane on Friday night.

As well as some new faces due to injury and illness, they will also be wearing special one-off jerseys.

The defending Super Rugby champions won't be able to finalise their team until later this week because of doubts over Digby Ioane (chest infection), Liam Gill (hamstring) and Chris F'Sautia (AC joint).

Quade Cooper is good to go despite taking a knock on his calf in the win against the Rebels last Friday, while the other good news is that centre Ben Tapuai is back in contention after spending 10 weeks on the sidelines with a fractured collarbone.

The Reds, sitting seventh on the Super Rugby table, will still be wearing red. But the jerseys will feature an Aboriginal art design to celebrate Queensland Rugby's inaugural Indigenous round.

Anthony Faingaa said the players were impressed with the design and were keen to do the special jersey justice with a performance worthy of the occasion.

"It's all or nothing now at this stage of the season," he said. "We know what we need to do - keeping winning and not only our last two games in the regular season.

"We don't only want to make the finals, we want to win the competition again."
