New comp for over 40s

COFFS Harbour Basketball will be offering a new 'over 40s' division in the senior competitions from this season, which will be played on Tuesday night for women and Wednesday night for men.

At the moment there are a number of teams who would qualify for the new age division, but the association believes there are lots of former players out there who would come back to the game if a suitable age division was created.

Many former players do not want to have to contest the ball against younger players, because of the chance of injury. Playing against people of the same age will enable everyone to have an enjoyable game.

The association hopes to see an influx of oldies returning to the courts to relive their youth (at a slower pace) and to enjoy the camaraderie of team sport.

Intending players do not have to have a whole team to register. It is our intention to encourage as many people back to the courts, and so people can register as individuals, with a couple of friends, or with a full team.

• To register your intention to play, please contact Matt Crawley in the basketball office via email on matt@coffsharbourbasketball.com.au or via phone on 6651 1452 by Thursday, February 5.
