New advisor joins team
PEOPLE who want to start or grow their existing business in the Coffs Coast region are now able to access support from experienced business professional Annelies Voorthuis.
Ms Voorthuis joins the team of business advisors at ETC in Coffs Harbour and is available to offer subsidised business advice, guidance and support to local businesses.
"I'm thrilled about this opportunity and I believe there are exciting times ahead for businesses in this region," Ms Voorthuis said.
"There is also a strong construction industry led by the demand for housing, growth in tourism and events and the steady increase in population in the region, which all lead to business opportunities."
Ms Voorthuis comes from a small business background and has been involved in a range of successful start-ups to market leadership positions as well as managing not-for-profit organisations.
"I have a passion for business development, identifying new opportunities and markets, business and financial planning, goal setting, sales and marketing," Ms Voorthuis said.
"It is so exciting to see someone's idea and passion develop into a business. To be able to support people in the process of taking their vision and turning it into a reality, or helping business owners take their business to the next level of growth and profitability, is something I thrive on.
"Having a small business can be one of the most challenging and rewarding things you can do, and having guidance and support during the process can save a lot of time, money and heartache.
"I look forward to helping businesses achieve success and reach their full potential, which is why I have joined the team at ETC."
ETC's business programs manager Kevin Riddell said Ms Voorthuis was an invaluable member of the team.
"Annelies has a wealth of experience assisting start-up and growing businesses developed during her time as a business advisor in Wollongong and as a small business owner in recruitment," Mr Riddell said.
"She has the ability to provide expert advice and support to the small business community."
