New addition to NSW Most Wanted list
A MAN was added to New South Wales' Most Wanted list in connection with a grisly murder in Sydney in 2003.
Basheeruddin Mohammed, 33, is wanted in relation to the death of 31-year-old Shoukat Mohammed.
Mr Mohammed's body was found inside a sleeping bag in wheelie bin on James Street, Redfern in 2003 after being drugged, assaulted and strangled.
In August 2003, a then 32-year-old man was arrested for the murder and found guilty in July 2005, sentenced to more than 26 years in prison.
A statement from NSW Police said despite extensive inquiries, police were unable to locate Basheeruddin Mohammed, who is believed to be in India.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest.Basheeruddin Mohammed is described as Indian/Sub-Continental appearance, 165cm tall, with a thin build, and short black hair.
There are now seven men on the state's 'most wanted' list.
Basheeruddin Mohammed joins: James Dalamangas (murder); Brady Hamilton (murder); Hakan Ayik (drug supply); Mohamad Maksoud (organised car re-birthing); Van Quai Tran (sexual assault); Warwick John McEwen (sexual assault).
